Equipment Needs
The other day Coach OG offered up her barely used Assault bike for sale. She had treated herself to a Concept 2 bike, which is more frequently used in comps and is a piece of equipment she did not have access to and is a must have for her training. She put the cast off Assault bike in her car and drove it to the gym. Gym owner said he’d take it if I didn’t. I cast an eye on it and knowing she would drive it to my home, was sold. It has a beautiful black seat. I used this exact bike a lot in my Gold’s Gym days (circa 2016/17). A 100 calories for time was my go to test, data which I still have stored on simple index cards. So, I’m back at it, now under my front porch. Tested it out this afternoon with the Comp Train workout “Overdue” below:
100/80 calories Assault bike
80 ab mat sit-ups
60 step back lunges
40 box jump overs (did broad jumps)
60 step back lunges
80 ab mat sit-ups
100/80 calorie Assault bike
Complete once through, for time. A simple challenge that got me moving at 4pm but took a coons’ age. Couldn’t read the screen on bike without a light at the end and had keep stopping “How many more calories for the love of god!?” Note to self: bring a head lamp with for light deprived times. It is clear my home gym requires urgent organization. There is equipment through-out the backyard, on the front porch and now under the front porch. Missing, and a work in progress, is an inside space. To workout at home, it needs to be an easy to get into affair, not a project of first gathering up stuff and making space, which is what I currently have on my hands!
Thanks OG!
